Summary:- A media post lead to a  frenzy with evolution of a video on social networking site , Avalanche of emotions flew across every channel with leading news channels glorifying act of rohtak  Sisters standing tall against 3 youth alleged of molestation.  A kneejerk reaction prompted flurry of channels to glorify the sisters lynching 3 boys furiously.  At this conjecture the outburst malafied  boys & the braveheart were  awarded cash reward worth 31000. An another video surfaced more accolades flew in for the edifying act of brave hearts. The U turn in this event took when co- passengers mostly women  appeared before investigating agencies addressing it a canard.  Envisaging the grey area in the story NGO Hridaya  fighting against misuse of laws  initiated a thorough investigation & spoke to eye witness to bring out the other side of the story. Its inconspicuous to believe the innocence of youth  alleged by the brave hearts . Society need to jettison its prejudice towards boys assuming them guilty based on media trial. Its pernicious to acknowledge the agony of youth who are pushed behind bars for altercation on allotments of seat misrepresented as a felony. This ignominy may remain with the youth for life time , where the abuser has convenience of being protected  by law. Screening os eyewitness  & co passengers  video hit 80  thousand views in less that 36 hours . in one voice the society recriminated the act of these so called brave heart. The incident raises serious questions are men / boys safe if alleged by fairer sex??

What appeared to be an audacious  act by Rohtak Girls & lauded by Indian media soon landed into deep waters with another video appearing on social networking site went viral. The video was shot and interviews by Deepika Narayan Bharadwaj  a Social activist and member of Save Indian family Community fighting against misuse of laws.  Eyewitness openly expressed recriminated the   so called RohtakBraveHearts  have fooled the entire Nation. Adding in the video the villagers expressed “This is not the first episode where they have misused the law, It has been done several occasion when the girls have threatened boys . While few of these episodes have come out, many are still under the wraps.’’

The girls went overboard claiming 2000 boys have molested them till date . A simple arithmetic will reveal assuming the girls being molested from last five years  that is 1865 days the girls got molested virtually every day. Instant fame of raising a false alarm shot the girls to instant fame.  

 Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, a filmmaker , Sokhinder & Sanjeev   Save Indian Family Activist, who visited the village and captured views of several villagers was told that there are several boys who are victims of these girls. A lot of people who have witnessed the rowdyism by these girls have also come out.

             While the nation has come to know about this episode, there are many other incidents where serial law abusers have filed these cases on several men extorting money from them in name of implicating them in false cases. More and More abuse of women centric laws are coming out in the public. Though in this case, boys have got some relief but not in all cases. Assuming a rare scenario if the incident would have happened in isolated place the boys side of the story could have never surfaced.  People spend lives fighting these false cases only to be proven innocent after years of trial. No one can give back the dignity these men lose on being trapped in false cases.

 The violation of Human rights “Innocent till proven guilty “goes in epitaph.  Media considered as fourth pillar of democracy   is riding popular wave of women empowerment & on several occasion lacks due diligence. the frenzy created by social networking site  is obstreperous.  Unilateral reporting of a calumny may have devastating impact.  The cascading effect of this one sided media outburst lead to bus driver & conductor nearly losing their job , 3 young boys to undergo trauma of arrest  eventually a worst case scenario  5 families destroyed on mere accusation.    

The Social circle erupting on this conjecture made a disposition against boy. This Conundrum unearthed because of accusation against boys has irked the masses. The state acted in hurry and was left with embarrassment. With Solidarity expressed by eyewitnesses in favor of boys and the canard blowing away, the boys got bailed, Drivers and Conductors reinstated & the accolades suspended.

Hridaya –  An ace Ngo of Save Indian family movement  fighting for right of innocent accused voices the blasphemy towards men/ boys on mere accusation is squalid. The Ngo has also launched a national Helpline no “ 08882498-498”  to counsel & protect men victims of such fallacy. The national helpline launched 6 months ago has received 30000 calls . To connect with tech savvy youth a mobile app ‘SIF- One “ is gaining  popularity as well. With the help of app victims of misuse of laws can access support through a click of button.

Hridaya demands from the government of Haryana and the police to take action against the girls as the video itself confirm the assault & investigate how many people have been cheated by same girls. The Surge in cases of molestation has also been reported by various agencies as surge in false cases as well.

“ Crying wolf’’ also discredit women who may be at disadvantage under unwelcome situation. women adopting tactics should  be deterred from misusing laws. The media should now ensure that the dignity of the boys is returned and the pain they have gone through is compensated by appropriate means.  

Time has come for a reality check “ Boys are not always Wrong “ said Amit Gupta  convenor of Hridaya.  Onus lies on media to do a due diligence while reporting incidents and both sides of story need to be highlighted. As it is the laws gender biased laws heavily loaded against men & media trial leads to character assassination adding trauma of Men. Such Events should be scrutinized with utmost care & sensitivity should replace sensaltionalization.
